नई दिल्ली। मेट्रो और एसी बस के बाद सार्वजनिक परिवहन सेवा में एक और सुविधा पॉड कार जोड़ने की कवायद की जा रही है। अमृतसर में निजी रैपिड ट्रांजिट सिस्टम (पीआरटी) के निर्माण का कार्य शुरू हो गया है। जबकि दिल्ली के द्वारका इलाके में इसे शुरू करने की मांग की जा रही है। ड्राइवर रहित पॉड कार का आनंद फिलहाल अमरीका के पश्चिमी वरजिनिया, संयुक्त अरब अमीरात के मसदर और लंदन के हीथरो में उठाया जा रहा है।
केंद्रीय शहरी विकास मंत्रालय के अधिकारियों के अनुसार, पंजाब सरकार ने अमृतसर में पॉड कार सेवा के लिए प्रस्ताव भेजा है। हालांकि, इसके लिए काम शुरू कर दिया गया है। प्रस्ताव के अनुसार, सात किलोमीटर के दायरे में दो सौ से ज्यादा पॉड कार चलाने की योजना है। इसके लिए पंजाब सरकार ने पॉड कार निर्माता कंपनी से समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर भी किए हैं। द्वारका इलाके में पॉड कार सेवा शुरू करने के लिए स्थानीय सांसद महाबल मिश्रा ने मंत्रालय से संपर्क किया है। साथ ही, दिल्ली सरकार के सामने इसका प्रेजेंटेशन भी दिया गया था।
यह है पॉड कार
पीआरटी स्वचालित परिवहन है जो छोटे इलाके और छोटे परिवारों के लिए उपयुक्त माना जाता है। टैक्सियों की तरह यात्री इसका चुनाव मर्जी से कर सकते हैं। गंतव्य स्टेशनों का चयन करने पर पॉड कार बीच के स्टेशनों पर नहीं रुकती है। बेशक यात्रियों के बैठने की क्षमता इसमें कम होती है, लेकिन इसकी रफ्तार 70 से 241 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटा होती है। एक घंटे के अंदर औसत 2700 यात्रियों गंतव्य तक पहुंचा देती है। विशेषज्ञों का मानना है कि ज्यादा कॉरिडोर और पॉड कार उपलब्ध कराने पर प्रत्येक घंटे दस हजार यात्रियों को ढोने में यह कामयाब रहती है।
यह हैं फायदे
बिजली से चलने के कारण यह प्रदूषण कम करने में भी लाभकारी है। वाहन नियंत्रण, मार्ग निर्धारण और किराया वसूलने की व्यवस्था स्वचालित है। यात्रियों की मांग पर यह 24 घंटे उपलब्ध होती है। कंप्यूटर चालित वाहन होने से मानवीय भूल होने की न्यूनतम आशंका रहती है।"
