The upcoming Metro corridor in is an extension of 35-km-long Dwraka-Yamuna Bank corridor (line 3). The route from Yamuna Bank Metro station gets diverted to Noida while the other rout, at present, extends up to Anand Vihar (line 4).
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) presently operates 56 trains on line 3 and line 4 which includes 27 six-coach trains. With the opening of Ghaziabad section, the total number of trains running would be increased to 58 to accommodate increased passenger load.
DMRC officials said the frequency of trains would be 3.5minutes to 4minutes during the morning peak hours (8am to 12pm) and evening peak hours (5pm to 8pm).
The two stations at Kaushambi and Vaishali, in Ghaziabad, are expected to be opened for public on July 10, a day after the inauguration, said sources.
According to the detailed project report made by DMRC around 40,000 passengers will use the section.
The majority of the work on the two stations in Ghaziabad is complete and finishing touches are underway on the interior and the exterior of the stations. The trial-runs are already underway on the Ghaziabad section.
