was in gnoida authority and met an old friend who works in authority

asked him abt status of many projects proposed by chor authority.....this one took my.notice

1. it was proposed by authoroty long time back to bring modern, low floor buses in gnoida as inter and intra city.mode of transport.
It obviosly had No interest from any good transport company as all.these u.p babus ask is commission

2. now very soon....private individual owners (like Blue line of 90s in delhi) will be hitting the streets

3. SP lobbyists, members havr already started.initiated the process of taking permits and.now villagers owned buses breaking eaxh and every law in wide roads of gnoida will create havoc

4. commission is exchanged and license to do anything is given

5. majority buses will be normal types (even 2nd hand allowed) and a few on ezpressway will.be low rise

6. pari chowk is a.complete mess.now and look like a chowk in typical.west u.p town.
no plan to make proper bus stops, widen the road etc...

7. So those who dreamt of good buses operating with some cicic sense.....pls.wake up....now gnoida.buses will.be owned and operated by Goons of villagers..very soon

  • .... And in today's paper they have release statement where they claim that Tata agreed to deliver buses but was not interested in running them and hence they have requested Volvo to run city bus service :D

I would still say...that its a positive for the city.

ATLEAST there would be public transport..and connectivity is bound to improve...
May be in the next stage...3-5 years from now on...the state gvt takes over the local bus service..when there are adequate people living in G.NOIDA ?

Even in Dilli...the beginnign was with Blue Line...with DTC completely taking over the roads now..

Lets see..when and how the story unfolds from here on...

  • having buses is more important rather than who operates it. Who cares who is operating it? pay the ticket money and reach your destination.

  • 1. Gnoida authority had decided to make this move as state govt. u.p roadways is NOT doing the job right. They have screwed up entirely....so Gnoida authority had proposed to hire a Private Transport company and offer them permit

    2. Large company operating a fleet of bus offers better services, safety, quality and abovr all ACCOUNTABILITY (in case of mishaps, accidents, not following rules, safety of passengers, etc)

Also you will.NOT find competition.amongst.buses on same route...and screwing the entire.safety of passengers (overloading, overspeedibg and Racing)

    3. Private companies HAD showj interest...but once again COMMISSION baazi didnt allow it to happen...Big Companies DONT give commission the way these U.P babus want

    4. Hence the idea to allow individual permits to individuals.
Immediate.commission, and allowing open permit to screw every law possible

    5. SP netas will offer permita to their.near and dear ones

    6. Allowing 2nd hand buses also ensure that rejected buses from delhi, etc will be used..

    7. This is in simple words..."allowing Dagga Maar buses" to ply in the city which is very bad in all ways.

This js another examople of commission baazi which will ruin the standards of a alreadt slow developing suburb.

PS....once the individual private operators are allowed its very difficult to phase then out....as they form unions and have political alliances.

it took years to get the killer buses of delhi to be booted out of the city

    Pathetic decision.....

Giving permit is a good idea but it should NEVER be given to individuals...and should be given to large private firma...who operate a fleet of buses and they shud be giveb seperate rights on diff. routes so they dont race for competition

Absolutely...We should be hopeful that ATLEAST the first step has been taken..

Yes in worst case scenario we are talking...abt buses to be KILLER buses...
Well even the DTC driver kills pedestrains..

But did we ever thought the best case...Imagine..they are doing their work properly..and not to go too far on positive thinking...
But lets expect that they make a better start to the local transport..Fair expectations?

Rest let the time prove..how efficiently does this happen.

  • Its know fact how things work in UP so I wouldn't be amazed to see the same what Zohaib has mentioned but fact is simple - no foreign standard company will be ready to run buses in GN as per now and buses are needed. so simply who is ready will get the job. Cannot do much for that.
Progress happens anywhere step by step. As it was said - Rome was not built in one day so let GN also take it shape by time.
From "ghost town" to a place with people living and traveling in public transport is "big leap" :).
Anyhow even yellow UP roadways buses are doing great work. Tons of local junta is using it for daily commute from various GN sectors (Alpha, beta, gamma, pi, omega, omicron, xu etc)
