    Guys,

    On every BBA - signatures are required from TWO witnesses

    Can one of the witness be any blood relative/wife or both should be non relatives

    Please advice

    Since I am not in India - my options are either an Indian colleague in office (Home in Bangalore) or my wife?

        I think you can get it witnessed from your wife or colleague . It doesn't matter.. I got it witnessed from my wife once and once from my colleague..

        It should be fine..

            I think you should preferably have your wife or a close relative as witness on any property document.

              Blood relatives and people living on same address are usually not valid

                As per the evidence law, generally blood relatives being interested witnesses are unreliable witnesses, i.e., either their testimony is ignored by the court or their evidence is not relied upon. In some cases, they are not even allowed to give evidence.

                Thus, better to take witness of some uninterested third party,i.e. a colleague.

                  I have a query on BBA.

                  My builder has sent me a BBA which burdens the buyer with the responsibility of making payment of escalated costs, in case the cost of construction increases. In other words, cost of apartment is not escalation free.

                  My question is: has anyone else has received any such BBA from their builder ? Is it a standard industry practice ?
