A lot of companies are advertising for property citing nearness to Dwarka expressway corridor.

Shilas, Indiabulls Centrum Park and Ramprastha Edge Tower come to mind.

Does anybody have news on when this construction will start and when it is likely to finish? Has the contract been awarded and to whom?
Date of completion and start of operation will be vital news for evaluating the pricing of flats sold in this corridor.

Last I heard was that a few houses in Palam Vihar were slated for demolition for this expressway in May June 09 or thereabouts.

  • 1. the Fore most question ---- Are we all sure whether this craze for infrastructure development in NCR would still contiune after the CWG 2010 .

This is the time taken for any Express Highway project per the latest from NHAI

    2. 48 month is the time frame for the completion of the project from the date of award of Contract .Add a delay for 6 to 18 month in this .
    3. Bidding and Contract awarding takes nearly 6-12 month after the land acquistion has been completed by the Development authoritiese .

    Some hard facts

KMP(Kundli , Manesar and Palwal ) (137 KM) - Western periphery of Delhi was started in 2004 but is going to get open to public only by feb , March 2010.

The work on Eastern Corridor (from Kundli , bagpat , Gazhaibad , Noida and Faridabad towards Palwal ) has not merely started and will not be completed before 2013-2014 .

  • Gaurav, do you mean that this Dwarka Gurgaon expressway is also going to be delayed? Do you have specific information?

Makes a lot of difference to Shilas - They are selling very big sized properties at a reasonable psf rate - total cost of flat is quite high.

If this expressway doesnt come, Shilas is junk.

Gurgaon: 10km elevated road to come up on Dwarka Expressway, tenders invited
The cost of the entire project has been estimated at ₹1,800 crore, a NHAI official said.

The elevated road will start from Gurgaon-Delhi border and end near the Basai railway overbridge in Sector 100. (HT File)
In what could spell major relief to city commuters and homebuyers living sectors 80 to 115 along the Dwarka Expressway, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is all set to construct a 10km elevated road. The tenders for the project were floated on Monday.
The elevated road will start from Gurgaon-Delhi border and end near the Basai railway overbridge in Sector 100. The cost of the entire project has been estimated at ₹1,800 crore, a NHAI official said.
Dinesh Yadav, general manager, NHAI, said, “The Dwarka Expressway will be executed in phases. In the first phase, tenders have been floated for the 10km road which will be elevated. The purpose of the elevated road is to separate local traffic from the expressway’s long distance traffic.”
In October 2016, the NHAI took over the Northern Peripheral Road, which is also known as the Dwarka Expressway, from the Haryana government and named it NH 248-B.
The NPR’s custodian authority earlier was the Haryana Urban Development Authority for 18-km portion in Gurgaon between Delhi border and Kherki Daula toll plaza. After NHAI took over it, the length was extended up to near Shiv Murti, Mahipalpur.
Before the NHAI took it over, the Huda had completed the 16.5km portion in Gurgaon and also an RoB on Delhi-Rewari railway track at Basai.
“We have been waiting for the completion of the Dwarka Expressway as the delay has adversely affected other development work in new sectors. We hope the NHAI will complete the expressway and bring us relief. I believe tens of thousands of homebuyers like me are waiting for the completion of their dream homes,” said Prakhar Sahay, a homebuyer.
“This is an important development as it will provide easy access to various sectors and help bridge the connectivity gap along the NPR,” said Pankaj Bansal, Director, M3M Group.
Ravish Kapoor, Director of Elan Group, also hailed the development and called the project “an engine to boost growth in new Gurgaon” by improving better connectivity to the expressway.
The NHAI has been constructing underpasses at Hero Honda Chowk, Rajiv Chowk, Signature Tower and Iffco Chowk. The highways authority constructed a flyover at Hero Honda Chowk and construction is underway for the two elevated U-turns at Iffco Chowk while another U-turn underpass is proposed on the highway near Ambience mall.

Government invites bids for consultant for 4-km tunnel from Dwarka Expressway

Government invites bids for consultant for 4-km tunnel from Dwarka Expressway NEW DELHI: Delhi will get its biggest tunnel road, about four kilometres long, to link Gurugram and Dwarka to the International Airport. The government invited bids on Friday for appointing a consultant for this ambitious project, proposing to complete the same in the next three years. The present approach to the airport from the Millennium city is a highly congested one through the National Highway-8, also known as the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway. An underconstruction ‘Dwarka Expressway’ will act as a by-pass of NH-8 from Gurugram to Dwarka. The plan finalised now is to build a 4-km tunnel road from the Dwarka Expressway straight to the T3 terminal of the Delhi Airport. This deep 4-km long tunnel for vehicles is proposed to run along the alignment of the existing underground Delhi Airport metro line from T3 Terminal to Dwarka Sector 21 Metro station. Passengers destined for the International airport from Gurugram by 2020 will be able to take Dwarka Expressway and then the tunnel road to reach the airport, bypassing the entire NH-8 road. Residents of the bustling Dwarka area will have the same faster option. The technical consultant to be engaged for the project has been asked to advice on the feasibility of the said tunnel and other pre-construction activities like having its junction with Dwarka Expressway. The tunnel, one built, will offer “western connectivity” to the International Airport.
Both the Dwarka Expressway and the new tunnel road will be executed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). This comes out of the urge of the government to decongest NH-8, where the intensity of traffic has increased significantly and there is urgent requirement of augmentation of capacity for safe and efficient movement of traffic, as per the bid document floated on Friday.
Government invites bids for consultant for 4-km tunnel from Dwarka Expressway –
“The standards of output required from the appointed consultants are of international level both in terms of quality and adherence to the agreed time schedule. NHAI has assigned works of consultancy services for DPR of Dwarka Expressway to the technical consultant M/s AECOM. The consultant (of tunnel road project) is required to co-ordinate with M/s AECOM as well as other stake holders viz. AAI, DAIL, DDA, DMRC and finalise the alignment & configuration of Tunnel Road accordingly,” the bid document says. It has also been mentioned that since it is envisaged that the tunnel road project “would be completed and opened to traffic after 3 years”, the traffic demand estimates should be made accordingly. The Centre has been pushing aggressively for projects in and around Delhi, including fast-tracking of the Delhi-Meerut expressway which is set to be built in record time. The first phase of India’s maiden 14-lane highway will be completed next month, road transport and highway minister Nitin Gadkari had said on Tuesday. The entire 96-kilometre expressway will be completed by 2019, the minister had said
  • The expressway will come for sure, only issue is the time frame and central govt support. All govt infrastructure projects are more than 50% delayed.

  • Thanks for the information again.

Do you think that Rahejas projects like Vedaanta, Atharva n Shilas will be liveable in next couple of years?
    CommentQuote
  • I dont think delivery will take place till 2012. By then road at least will be in place and it will become slowly livable.
    CommentQuote
  • I am also expecting them to deliver the project by early 2012, but still not sure whether the expressway work has started or not. If the expressway gets functional than things can improve fast.

  • Have you booked in this project? If so, next time you visit the area around palam vihar, try to see whether there is any progress that side on the expressway.
