A lot of companies are advertising for property citing nearness to Dwarka expressway corridor.

Shilas, Indiabulls Centrum Park and Ramprastha Edge Tower come to mind.

Does anybody have news on when this construction will start and when it is likely to finish? Has the contract been awarded and to whom?
Date of completion and start of operation will be vital news for evaluating the pricing of flats sold in this corridor.

Last I heard was that a few houses in Palam Vihar were slated for demolition for this expressway in May June 09 or thereabouts.

  • http://www.hindustantimes.com/gurgaon/gurgaon-10km-elevated-road-to-come-up-on-dwarka-expressway-tenders-invited/story-r6Id3jT4Vz0EzFeJcuhF8H.html In what could spell major relief to city commuters and homebuyers living sectors 80 to 115 along the Dwarka Expressway, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is all set to construct a 10km elevated road. The tenders for the project were floated on Monday. The elevated road will start from Gurgaon-Delhi border and end near the Basai railway overbridge in Sector 100. The cost of the entire project has been estimated at ₹1,800 crore, a NHAI official said. Dinesh Yadav, general manager, NHAI, said, “The Dwarka Expressway will be executed in phases. In the first phase, tenders have been floated for the 10km road which will be elevated. The purpose of the elevated road is to separate local traffic from the expressway’s long distance traffic.” In October 2016, the NHAI took over the Northern Peripheral Road, which is also known as the Dwarka Expressway, from the Haryana government and named it NH 248-B. The NPR’s custodian authority earlier was the Haryana Urban Development Authority for 18-km portion in Gurgaon between Delhi border and Kherki Daula toll plaza. After NHAI took over it, the length was extended up to near Shiv Murti, Mahipalpur. Before the NHAI took it over, the Huda had completed the 16.5km portion in Gurgaon and also an RoB on Delhi-Rewari railway track at Basai. “We have been waiting for the completion of the Dwarka Expressway as the delay has adversely affected other development work in new sectors. We hope the NHAI will complete the expressway and bring us relief. I believe tens of thousands of homebuyers like me are waiting for the completion of their dream homes,” said Prakhar Sahay, a homebuyer. “This is an important development as it will provide easy access to various sectors and help bridge the connectivity gap along the NPR,” said Pankaj Bansal, Director, M3M Group. Ravish Kapoor, Director of Elan Group, also hailed the development and called the project “an engine to boost growth in new Gurgaon” by improving better connectivity to the expressway. The NHAI has been constructing underpasses at Hero Honda Chowk, Rajiv Chowk, Signature Tower and Iffco Chowk. The highways authority constructed a flyover at Hero Honda Chowk and construction is underway for the two elevated U-turns at Iffco Chowk while another U-turn underpass is proposed on the highway near Ambience mall.

  • From what I have been told this is being followed up by the highest levels in the Govt, since it is to provide the main alternative for the traffic jams being faced on NH8. Seems that the ministers getting stuck in the traffic jam last year had a good effect in speeding up the infrastructure completion that has been long delayed.
The tender for the section in Delhi is also being processed.
It will also be clear from the drawings as to why this got delayed by almost a year, as the entire design has been revamped to make it elevated for a considerable portion to provide seamless connectivity from the Airport to the various sectors in this area.
Timelines are quite aggressive it seems as per this tender. Looks like they are in a hurry to get this completed, to be in time for the next elections.
No wonder the PM was saying that this will be a gift for Delhites, freedom from traffic jams.
And we in Gurgaon also get to benefit just as an after thought.

  • Dwarka Expressway: Home buyers at NHAI door for faster completion NHAI also recently announced NCR’s longest-elevated corridor on the expresswayShubhra Pant | TNN | September 25, 2017, 07:46 IST

GURUGRAM: Nearly 50 members of DXP Welfare Association, which represents 34 residential projects on Dwarka expressway, approached NHAI officials on Saturday for expediting the completion of the national highway. The expressway project, which was launched a decade ago, has seen multiple delays due to land acquisition hurdles.

“We are unable to shift to our homes due to the non-completion of the highway. Though the Dwarka expressway was declared a national highway 18 months back, the actual work towards the completion of this project has not taken off till date,” stated a letter submitted by the homebuyers to NHAI officials.

However, the homebuyers expressed happiness in the fact that a tender for a portion of the expressway has been released recently. NHAI also recently announced NCR’s longest-elevated corridor on the expressway.

The homebuyers are, however, still unsure of the timely completion of the project as the multiple delays in the past 10 years have taken a toll their patience levels. “The six-lane elevated highway sounds like an ambitious plan to ease traffic and pollution level, but still there is no concrete plan from the government side for the timely completion of Dwarka expressway,” said Yashesh Yadav, president of DXP Welfare Association.

The delay in the project has primarily been caused due to hurdles in land acquisition, and litigation and protests by oustees. “We don’t see the desirable seriousness from authorities towards resolving the issues pertaining to the completion of the Dwarka expressway. From the past one year, the issues have only increased and even today there is no connectivity between the existing portion of Dwarka expressway and NH-8 or towards Delhi,” said Pradip Rahi, another affected homebuyer.

Envisioned as the fourth link between Delhi and Gurgaon — after MG Road, NH-8 and Old Delhi-Gurgaon road — Dwarka expressway originates at Shiv Murti in Delhi and ends at Kherki Daula in Gurgaon, near the toll plaza on the highway. In all, around 90,000 homebuyers are affected due to the delay in the completion of the project and many have not been able to move into their flats because the road is still incomplete.

Despite repeated attempts, NHAI officials could not be contacted.
