A lot of companies are advertising for property citing nearness to Dwarka expressway corridor.

Shilas, Indiabulls Centrum Park and Ramprastha Edge Tower come to mind.

Does anybody have news on when this construction will start and when it is likely to finish? Has the contract been awarded and to whom?
Date of completion and start of operation will be vital news for evaluating the pricing of flats sold in this corridor.

Last I heard was that a few houses in Palam Vihar were slated for demolition for this expressway in May June 09 or thereabouts.

    नॉर्दर्न पेरिफेरल रोड (एनपीआर) के सौंदर्यीकरण पर हूडा करीब 17.5 करोड़ रुपये खर्च करेगा। इससे रास्ते में हरियाली विकसित की जाएगी और लाइटिंग सिस्टम की व्यवस्था की जाएगी। प्लान को मंजूरी के लिए उच्चाधिकारियों के पास भेज दिया गया है।
    एनपीआर की लंबाई 18 किमी, जबकि चौड़ाई 150 मीटर है। इसके सेंट्रल वर्ज में 10 मीटर चौड़ी ग्रीन बेल्ट प्रस्तावित है। अब यहां हरियाली विकसित करने को लेकर होर्टिकल्चर विंग ने करीब 4.5 करोड़ रुपये की प्लानिंग तैयार की है। इसके अलावा लाइटिंग सिस्टम की प्लानिंग भी तैयार की गई है। करीब 13 करोड़ रुपये से एनपीआर पर स्ट्रीट लाइट, हाई मास्क लाइट, रेड लाइट आदि लगाई जाएंगी।
    एनपीआर के निर्माण की रुकावट हाई टेंशन वायर भी हैं। 80 मीटर लंबाई में 66 केवीए के 10 से अधिक टावर हैं। इन्हें शिफ्ट करने को लेकर एचवीपीएन ने 19.54 करोड़ रुपये का एस्टिमेट हूडा के इंजीनियरिंग सेल को सौंपा है। मंजूरी मिलने के बाद काम शुरू होगा। इसके बाद हाई टेंशन वायर को शिफ्ट किया जाएगा। हाई टेंशन वायर आरडी 3220 मीटर से आरडी 3300 मीटर में है।
    एनपीआर कई सड़कों को क्रॉस करेगा। इसमें पटौदी रोड, बसई रोड, दौलताबाद व धनवापुर रोड आदि शामिल हैं। अब क्रॉसिंग के पास वन विभाग की जमीन है। इंजीनियरिंग सेल ने वन विभाग से 0.792 हेक्टेयर जमीन देने का आग्रह किया है।
    चीफ इंजीनियर पंकज कुमरा का कहना है कि एनपीआर के जिस एरिया में पंजाब एवं हरियाणा हाई कोर्ट का स्टे नहीं है, वहां निर्माण कार्य जल्द से जल्द पूरा किया जाएगा। इसके निर्देश इंजीनियरिंग सेल को दिए गए हैं। इसके अलावा इसके सौंदर्यीकरण व रुकावट को दूर करने की प्लानिंग के ऊपर तेज गति से काम चल रहा है।

    Residents of New Palam Vihar colony and the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) are on a collision course after the latter decided to start construction work on the stretch of the Northern Peripheral Road (NPR) project close to New Palam Vihar in Gurgaon.

    HUDA is racing against the March-end deadline for the completion of the project. Senior HUDA officials claimed that all the obstacles coming in the way of the ambitious project would be cleared. "The completion of the project in all the stretches is a top priority and for that the Gurgaon police's help has been enlisted. There are certain areas where a large number of policemen are required to remove illegal structures," said a senior HUDA official on condition of anonymity. As per tentative plans, HUDA officials, accompanied by police personnel, would start demolition next week.

    The project is crucial for improving road connectivity between Gurgaon and Dwarka. The 150-metre-wide roads will connect Dwarka and Kherki Dhaula on NH-8. The one-kilometre stretch near New Palam Vihar is turning out to be the biggest battle for HUDA.

    Fearing a violent backlash from the residents, HUDA has also sought massive police presence to accompany them for the demolition drive near New Palam Vihar colony. Refusing to reveal details of the demolition drive, another HUDA official said: "The request for sending adequate number of police officers has been accepted and several teams of HUDA officials have been formed already." The HUDA officials are not disclosing the exact numbers of houses or plots, which might face the axe in the forthcoming demolition next week. "The details have been prepared in consultation with the legal team and survey of the exact site map. For clearing these structures the required permission have already been sought," said the official.

    The NPR work came to a halt due to a high court stay secured by over 300 houseowners in New Palam vihar colony.

    As per the new strategy, HUDA has now singled out the plots, houses and other structures, which are not covered under the court's stay. The problem now is that some of these structures are close to the colony and not covered under the court's order. And the residents are opposed to any work on those plots as well. "We will not allow any construction activity in the vacant plots or land or structure inside the colony. Allowing HUDA to work here will make life difficult for all the residents," said a colony resident.

    On Friday, the residents stopped the demolition of a factory and the HUDA officials had to leave the site. "The residents will not allow any construction work in or near the colony," said another resident.

    HUDA officials, however, defend their right to take over the plots and start working. "The construction work will happen on the vacant plots which are not covered by the court orders. The residents should not have any problems with that," said another HUDA official.

    Don't get emotional this is not right for me to react I am observing the situation and give my comments at appropriate time. However, I still feel hard time for exway and time is also running out of hand and I am ensure that if HUDA will not handle the situation tactfully than they neverever clear the obstacle. But considering the position in court case it seems little difficult for them to win the case, check past records HUDA remain most of the time looser or many of the cases stretches for 25-30 years.

    So regardless what the progress is I shall only convenience ones they able to get delivered the verdict in their favor.

  • It's early to say whether NPR cancelled or get shape changed but one thing is certain that through court route it will take 10 or more years. Why everyone forget that HUDA is govt agency and having nos of loophole, during conceptualization of any projects for general facility their are political involvement, builder interference and pressure from influenced personalities always try to manipulate it for their own advantages. 

    Now  project reached at important concurred where both side has do or die like situation either resident will survive or this project, as of today the HUDA is facing difficulty and great resistant for getting possession of already acquired land than what happened once they decided move to litigate land. They are now thinking to use police machinery, I surprise by taking such step how they get consent of litigants which is mandatory for acquisition and this way the matter get more difficult to resolved. New land acquisition bill may become law by next 3-4 months than whether authority has taken it into consideration? Once it get imposed than the content of the old sections would also get altered and with new statue they must learnt how to dealt.

    It's not an optimistic situation from my purview, however if someone are happy with that it's his own choice.
