I need help on General power of attorney related to home loan. I have attached copy of GPA sent by IDBI bank for that purpose.
I am bit confused that it has lot of terms & condition and seems bit complicated.
Problem is that it no where mentioned that this PoA is valid for perticular property for which I am applying loan.
Is there anyone here who live in USA and have applied for home loan in India ? I read lot about it on internet but want to talk someone directly who have done it recently.
And want to know which is the most convenient bank in India for NRIs.

  • HDFC Limited is very good. I am an NRI in London and bought a flat in Noida recently. Here they give format which needs to attested at the Indian embassy. You just need to sign all pages and put your photograph on the last page. The embassy will attest the photograph and signature. After you send the POA to the person you have given attorney, he needs to get his signature notarized by a notary in India and then submit this in the bank.
