my question is basically related to the difference in cost of living, and certain other factors such as availability of electricity, water etc

Noida would be much better even if it is lesser by 90K. You'll be able to buy bigger and better apartment in Noida with much less investment and Noida infrastructure is any day better than Gurgaon.
I am giving you three scenarios:
            (1) Assuming you have 4 Crores cash to buy property
In Noida, you can buy Golf Course flat in 1.5 Cr (Unitech), a BMW car and invest 2 Cr for your family and your retirement. In Gurgaon, you can buy only Golf Course flat with 3-4 years Possession (M3M).
            (2) Assuming you have 1 Cr Cash to buy property
In Noida, you can buy 3BHK (3C Boulevard), a 15 lakh luxury car and saving of approx 25 lacs. In Gurgaon, you can buy only 3BHK at Sohna road, which may be 15 kms from your office if you are in DLF.
            (3) Assuming you have 10 lakh cash and rest loan to buy property
In Noida, you can buy 3BHK again by taking 45-50 lakhs loan (EMI approx 40K for 20 years). In Gurgaon, you can buy 3BHK flat with 85-90 lacs loan (EMI approx 75K). EMI payout in GGN will be more than 35K per month. 35K*12=4.2 lacs per annum. So 90K will be covered.

Rentals, daily cost of living and transportation cost is higher in GGN than Noida. 2BHK in Phase V starts from 20K per month.

depending on location you could be paying more. electricity and water sucks if u r living in an independent house. not so bad in power backuped apts with borewells. roads are f'd. I wouldn't move for the roads alone.

Cost of living is same in Noida and Gurgaon. Hence makes better sense to go for Noida as u end up saving more.

Btw Dsingca-U seem to be in love with luxury cars

                    90k is actually 63k(90-30% tax) i.e. arnd rs.5250 pm.

cost of living is almost same. So deciding factors will be like:

do u travel by own car? or how imp is public conveyance for you and your family??
do u need to go airport often(business or personal travel)?
ur relatives are towards jaipur or towards ghaziabad/agra/meerut etc??
how much do you need railway service?(nzm station or new delhi)
Most imp is do u want to leave currrent society(friends, relatives, colleagues etc). As you are in Noida, you already know the place..the mkts, the schools, the hospitals etc..is it worth leaving for 5k pm??
