Somebody from MUTHOOT FINANCE approached me and told they are offering FD for 11.5-12.5% for 1 year and 13% for 18 months or more.
seems to me muthoot finance is planning to go for an IPO.

has somebody invested in this FD??

    Re : MUTHOOT FINANCE

Technically they issue a non-convertible debenture and ask you to surrender put option.

In simple terms, you are purchasing a debt instrument (hence you become their creditor).

In lay man's term, yes they give return as promised on your investment.

    Points to note:
    1) verify if it is annual return or annualized yeild
    2) There is about 2% penalty (on interest) if you do premature withdrawl.

    Opinion:
    1) The investesmnt is quite safe. You can go for it.

    On IPO:
Yes, it is on its way, maybe in a months time
