Noida Authority has surprisingly come up with a plan of wide network of Metro Lines and Six Expressways. It will increase the connectivity between Delhi and within Noida dramatically. They have approved four new Metro lines. These four lines (86 KM+) are in addition to the already proposed Noida to Greater Noida.

To begin with, the authorities have approved a major detailed extension of the Metro route connecting almost all of Noida and Greater Noida at a cost of Rs 10,000 crores, covering a total of 86 km. The route is estimated to be ready in the next three years.

Excerpts from today's TOI:

Besides extending the existing city centre Metro route connecting Kalindi Kunj and Botanical Garden, a new line from the City Centre station in sector 32 to sector 62, touching NH-24, was also approved. This new 6-km route will be via sector 71 crossing and will provide connectivity to sectors 32, 34, 35, Hoshiarpur, sectors 51, 52, 71, Greater Noida Extension Marg, Sarfabad, sectors 60, 61, 62, 63 and NH 24.

A new loop from sector 71 via sector 121 will then join the Greater Noida route between the City Centre and Bodaki railway station in Greater Noida. This route will be from City Centre along the Greater Noida Expressway, touching Knowledge Park 4 via Pari Chowk and will finally end at Bodaki. The new loop has been added mainly to connect Noida extension that falls near sector 121 with Noida as well as with Greater Noida.

"With the Metro extension, most sectors will be within walking distance from the stations. Connectivity to Greater Noida will also improve tremendously," Singh said.

This looks like to soothen the prevailing sentiments of realty market. I am waiting for the official maps. In next 2-3 days, all builders will come up with various versions of the maps, which could not be relied unless the maps are released by Noida Authority and DMRC. So, my suggestion: Don't jump on a property simply because a builder shows you a map showing the Metro at their doorstep. Just wait fot the official maps to be released.

    24 May 2011, 0400 hrs IST

  • The 2nd para of TOI news is not factually correct (A new loop from sector 71 via sector 121 will then join the Greater Noida route between the City Centre and Bodaki railway station in Greater Noida. This route will be from City Centre along the Greater Noida Expressway, touching Knowledge Park 4 via Pari Chowk and will finally end at Bodaki. - how can the route be from city centre along the GN Expway via Pari Chowk to Boraki.? The news reporter has confused between two statements. This should read as "this route will be from city centre along sector 71 and 121 towards boraki".

POssibly this should go on the 130 m road in Noida Extension.

    agree with you sir,

    this is pre election announcement

  • Absolutely right. This is all politics. No execution steps have been taken for the Noida-GN line itself that was planned way back. Don't see much happening here either.
    CommentQuote
  • That's obvious. Metro can not be started for trees and other inanimate objects. Noida extention does not have even a single constructed residential society as of now and other village areas of Noida Extention are also least populated. So it does not seem convincing at the moment.

Prima facie announcement seems to be a false promise to attract buyers only and get back buyers' confidence in the area which has witnessed negative publicity in the recent past from buyers' point of view.

Only ray of hope is that the NE area will be very populated in the years to come(Provided all projects are executed and conflicts are resolved) and huge money is at stake in the area. So GNA may actually go ahead to execute its announcement.

  • Yeah this seems to be political announcement, but I guess they will surely start the work in one of the proposed metro line before the election, and if that happens...it would be good for Noida and even if the new CM is not BMW they would still like to take the credit and complete remaining work...let see how it goes :)

  • WHY WAS MASTER PLAN 2031 PLANNED IN SUCH HURRY

If such projects were planned then why have they not been shown on the master plan 2031 which has recently been posted by NOIDA.

What was the hurry for finalising master plan when so many projects were nearing approva?

Even without the lollypops, it is just ridiculaous to think of buying for current generation (yourself). 6 years for the possession, another 10 years to develop the area to be respectably habitable.... current generation will just retire or to be retired.
