It seems many have no clue about it and so i am bringing this important factor which a buyer should be aware before booking for End use. If there is NO LIFT with Flat Hospital stretcher carrying size...then its a Big Negative for obvious reasons

1. The IDEAL Ratio is 2 Lifts (With atleast One Lift being able to Carry a Flat Hospital stretcher and 2 People easily) for 30-35 Appartments with around 70% occupancy

2, The Higher the Number of Floors in a Building..the more the time a Lift takes to reach a certain level due to more stops and openings

3. Keep in mind that with time..and maybe Poor maintenance Lifts do have Breakdowns and can cause further waitiings. Also if the ratio os number of flats per Lift is very High...expect more wear and tear and maintenance issues.

4. If you want to avoid the headache of Lifts then Buy between 1st and 3rd floor as then you will have an OPTION of taking stairs.

5. We all know that very few appartment projects have large service lifts..meaning abuse of Lifts will be very High. People will use it to carry furniture,etc etc etc..all the time...again causing maintenance issues.
So Lift ratio shoudnt be Bad...as it can be a Big Headache for End users

P.S: please donot start calculating that a 2 bedroom flat will have 3 people and 3 bedroom flat will have 5 people..who will use the Lift..You can NEVER EVER calculate that....A 2 bedroom unit can have even 4-5 People and 4 Bedroom can have 2 People....A Family in 2 Bhk can have 3 cars..and a family in 4 Bhk can have 1 car....Its impossible to calculate all this....There are no RULES for this.

  • Not a single affordable high-rise project in Noida fulfils this 3 lifts/80 flats requirement. And yes, I am also talking about new projects. So every such project is an exception. I asked you to show me ONE project which follows this.

    Exceptions:

    LB, LP, LBC, SSH EVERY AFFORDABLE PROJECT.

  • 2Lifts per floor is standard for about 40-60 flat tower. ANything more than 60, u definitely require an additional lift or a bigger lift. I have a flat in a ~50 flat tower with 2 lifts(in which i dont stay). i have never waited more than 2 minutes for the lift at any given point of time. The capacity of that lift is about 6-8 people.

    Also like the number of lifts, the capacity of lift is equally important. A lift with capacity of 10-12 people is much better than the one which has a capacity of 6-8.

    Please understand the usage of a lift at peak capacity. I dont think the usage will ever be more than the number of users. Emergent situations are exempted eg fire, power breakdown etc.

    Saurabhbhai, bilkool nehin!! We are having good discussions. I believe no one has ever said lift faltu ki batein hain... Only point of contention is how serious is the issue?

    When I said you to try it out, I really mean it. Just go to a high rise in off peak hour (say after dinner) and try it. It will be a fun and learning experience ... you will really know how long it actually takes.

    2. Sunshine is '6 - 10 story apartments'?. Where on earth did you discover this? I have bought in this project, and they have already constructed 8-9 floors! It has G+20+penthouse.
