Are there any advertisements regulations in general? We see most of the builders coming with fantastic brochures listing the various facilities showing all imaginary facilities one can think of. Many are coming with video clippings showing how the project shall be, birds chirping, pata nahin aur kya kya lubhawane drishya! Many people fall due to these brochures only which tempts them to buy. But BBA mentions a clause that buyer is not affected by the advertisement, has enquired all details about the project and is satisfied. Here only, builder saves his a** from any future dispute and he is not liable to provide all facilities as shown in the advertisement.

  • One could complain to Advertising Standards Council of India but it's not a govt. body.

    Even if we had one, I feel all these regulatory bodies fail at the judiciary level, i.e. when it comes to enforcing the regulations.
