  • Is it true that Jaypee is not installing ceiling fans and light fixtures when handing over? They say this was mentioned in the contract but I remember Kalypso and Pavilion had these.

Jaypee Infratech MD Manoj Gaur, 3 officials booked for duping investor

Chandel alleged that he had in 2013 booked a flat in Jaypee Group's "Sports City" project and that the builder had promised to hand over possession in three years
    PTI | April 10, 2017, 07:44 IST

GREATER NOIDA: Jaypee Infratech's Managing Director and three other senior officials of the firm have been booked for allegedly duping an investor, police said on Sunday.

A cheating case has been registered against the firm's Managing Director, Manoj Gaur, Joint Managing Director Sameer Gaur, Senior Chief Manager Rajiv Talwar and Chief Manager Manoj based on a complaint filed by a Ghaziabad resident, Nikhil Chandel, at Dankaur police station, SP (rural) Sujata Singh said.

Chandel alleged that he had in 2013 booked a flat in Jaypee Group's "Sports City" project and that the builder had promised to hand over possession in three years.

He said that on the completion of the deadline, he visited the project site and found that the builder had not even started the construction work.

"The complainant then approached the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, which told him that the builder is yet to get the layout of the housing project sanctioned," the SP said.

Chandel complained about it in a tweet to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and later filed a complaint the police station, she said.

Jaypee Wish Town buyers, builder soon to meet over delivery of apartments According to the SSP, the builders have verbally committed to commence the construction within a month

    TNN | April 11, 2017, 10:30 IST

NOIDA: In an effort to speed up the delivery of nearly 30,000 homes of Jaypee Wish Town, the senior superintendent of police, Gautam Budh Nagar, Dharmendra Singh has called a meeting of the builders and homebuyers at the SSP office in Surajpur on April 15.

According to the SSP, the builders have verbally committed to commence the construction within a month. “We met the buyers this morning and then spoke to Jaypee management. They have assured that the constructions will commence at Wish Town site within a month. We are also ready to be part of the next builder-buyer interaction,” Dharmendra Singh told TOI. The buyers had met the senior cop to follow up on over 500 complaints filed by Wish Town buyers in August 2016.

In a similar response, CEO, Noida Authority, Deepak Agarwal stated that a meeting with Jaypee group management will be held soon. “We have initiated the process of talks between builders and buyers wherever there are issues. We will convene a meeting with Jaypee soon,” Agarwal told TOI.

Earler on Monday, over 250 people assembled at the SSP office, Surajpur with placards and raised slogans against the builders. Following this, they met SSP Dharmendra Singh and district magistrate NP Singh. The buyers later converged at the Noida Authority office. There they started a day-long protest.

In fact, the Wish Town buyers started their protest seeking delivery of apartments on Saturday itself when they assembled at the builder’s Sector 128 office. On Sunday, they met again to work on a plan to place their demands before the district administration. The next meeting, scheduled on Saturday, is expected to provide some clarity to the protesting buyers.

“We are running from pillar to post to get some response to our queries. It has been very difficult to reach out to the builders as there is no communication from their end. We hope that with an intervention from the police, we will finally gain some insight into the 30,000 pending houses,” Pramod Kumar, a Wish Town buyer, who participated in the meetings, said.

Started in 2008, Jaypee Wish Town is a 1,200-acre project in Sector 128, comprising 35,000 apartments and 25 different societies. The buildings are in various stages of completion. Of the 35,000 apartments, only 5,000 have got occupancy certificates.

There are 25 apartments at Wish Town in Sector 128. The prices range from mid-range to premium. All the apartments were sold between 2009 and 2011.

The builders did not respond to tweets and phone calls seeking comments on the issue.

  • Jaypee Infra's housing plan cancelled by YEIDA The plan was cancelled when it came to light that the builder had not addressed some objections raised by the Authority regarding the building plan in 2014
    Vandana Keelor | TNN | April 13, 2017, 08:06 IST

GREATER NOIDA: YEIDA on Wednesday said it has cancelled the building plan of a residential project initiated by Jaypee Infratech in 2013.

The plan was cancelled when it came to light that the builder had not addressed some objections raised by the Authority regarding the building plan in 2014. The matter came to YEIDA's notice when homebuyers contacted the Authority earlier this week after an FIR was registered by the Greater Noida police regarding the alleged fraud.

According to YEIDA officials, the builder was given a large chunk of land - as part of the Yamuna Expressway project agreement - between Greater Noida and Agra, according to a construction agreement. "The said project was to be constructed across a part of that land in Sector 22B," said Arunvir Singh, chief executive officer, YEIDA.

"The builder was to construct about 300 residential units," he said.

Jaypee Infratech through a press note on April 10, said, "The project was launched only after obtaining the requisite approvals from statutory authorities in keeping with the extant guidelines of that time." The release further denied allegations of fraud/cheating and said "they were frivolous and baseless".

  • Jaypee asked to pay Rs 90 crore by April 15 or face cancellation of 1,000 hectare land Jaiprakash Associates (JAYPEE) paid Rs 10 crore against the dues and assured YEIDA to clear the remaining Rs 600 crore against the allotment of land on the Yamuna Expressway by August 31

    Prabhakar Sinha | TNN | April 13, 2017, 07:55 IST

NEW DELHI: The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has asked Jaiprakash Associates (Jaypee) to pay Rs 90 crore - 15% of the total outstanding amount of Rs 600 crore - by April 15 or else face cancellation of the 1,000 hectare land on which the company has developed a sports city.

On March 30, Jaiprakash Associates (JAYPEE) paid Rs 10 crore against the dues and assured YEIDA to clear the remaining Rs 600 crore against the allotment of land on the Yamuna Expressway by August 31. YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh said the authority has given a deadline of April 15 to pay at least 15% of the outstanding amount to reschedule the repayment. He said that if the company failed to pay the amount by April 15 dead line, the authority will be left with no choice but to cancel the allotment''. He said the part payment of Rs 10 crore will not help and the company will have to pay the rest of the amount also to re- schedule the repayment.

Singh said the authority has sent similar letters to other defaulting developers also to pay the 15% of the outstanding to reschedule the payments of dues. The authority has a total of over Rs 800 crore in dues from other developers.

He said the authority is rescheduling payments of developers with a condition that they would complete the construction works for the units they sold within the next one year. As most of the developers have launched projects around three years ago, they must complete them by 2018. The Jaypee management could not be contacted for their response.

In a March 30 letter, executive chairman Manoj Gaur had said, "We are in the process of completing the cement transaction and we would like to assure you that this transaction may take another 4 months to get consummated.''

"Therefore, we would like to seek your kind understanding and request you to give us time up to August 31 to make your all overdue payments,'' the letter said. He had said that the delay in the payment is largely due to the delay in securing approval to sell the cement plants of the company to Kumar Mangalam Birla owned UltraTech Cement Ltd (UTCL).

In the letter Gaur said the approval to sell the cement plants for around Rs 16,000 to UltraTech could come in March 2017 from National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).

"Our transaction with UTCL would have been over by December 2016, if government of India had not changed the jurisdiction of hive off/ merger/demerger from High Courts to NCLT with effect from December 2016.'' He said this change in the jurisdiction of courts led to delay in securing approvals.
