        Totally agree

If RE was this easy everybody would be trading siting behind computer screen. Thank god it's not like trading on MCX where you can sell X amount of something even if it don't exist.

Replace SEC with SEBI for Indian context.

Well RE to most is the easiest money flipping business. Only if they had liquidity ... but those who have are trading crazily in RE (ofcourse it cant be high freq). There is going to b shake out at some point and then you will have that chill which we see in retail segment of equities nowadays ... no more brouhaha of reliance power, jhunjhunwalas, kya din they woh bhi ppl were having demat accounts even for their pets!!

And those who feel RE is not like that well time will tell in 10 years.

The rental yield in Indian RE was already extremely low at 1.5 - 2.0%. Further rental crash clearly means that high prices of RE are not sustainable any further.

We all know that RE prices have come down by 8-15% in the last two year and the sellers are having a nightmare trying to find buyer. Rental crash gives a clear picture of the bleak RE scenario going to unfold.

No wonder, even at Gurgaon and NOIDA which are the hotspots of NCR RE, more than 60% flats which were delivered in the last one year are lying vacant.

The holding capacity of investors is being truly tested while the politicians are rampantly selling their holdings to generate cash for elections

Mulmule, where did you get this statistic from, that 60% houses are vacant?
