  • The airport being planned (3-40Km north of Pune City) will serve Pune+Nashik, though closer to Pune. The massive planned link is from JNPT to Chakan to Nashik.
No possibility of new airport to serve nashik, due to proximity to Mumbai and Pune.

SEZs all over India are facing some or the other issue, and its starting to look like an ill -conceived notion to me now. The only successful one being the Raj Govt+Mahindra one in Rajasthan.

IT and others are limited to manufacturing and industrial solutions (kind of Oracle, BaaN, SAP) due to industrial base. Voice is highly unlikely, due to shortage of quality english-speaking manpower.

Canadian, Australian and New Zealander head hunters are looting all technical institutes, catering colleges and taking entire class loads overseas. This will lead to a serious shortage of trained manpower in a few years at the middle management levels, and at the plant/shop floor levels.

With the rampant Gujarat across the Dangs, the state govt has to pullup its socks and so some industrial polishing to keep Nashik as the 'golden industrial city' that it seems to be.
