For me Pune is no different than Delhi or noida..I had a robbery in my house last yr in pune but nothing has been done by police till date...I am regulalry following Pune newspaper..Every other day u can see a news related to robbery etc but I have never seen those news in any TV channel...but u can see a small news for Delhi in news channel....
Delhi is safe..as safe as pune only media problems...pune girl died in bavdhan who worked with IBM , one girl kidnapped from symantec who died...also one hinjewadi girl raped in indica car...never saw those news in TV channel...Dont go by TV channels go by the facts...

Just read local news paper of PUNE , do you not seen lots of crime news there daily, if in Pune 15 SQ KM area of 25 Lac population produce that number of crime news then you can your self observe for NCR.

For my family NCR is quite safe my brother work in Gurgaon and we live in GZB , his office time is 2 PM to 10 PM. and due to 45 KM distance he always reach at home at 11.30 PM (or late some times) either by Metro or by Shared CAB. During last 5 years no problem for us however he travel GZB, whole DELHI, Gurgaon daily and do return journey of 90 KM , 5 days a week.
          Very well put in Saurabh.
          I agree with you completely.

Even a buffalo dying with current makes news in NCR while I can see so much crime and rape news in local channels and paper which never makes headlines.........

I have lived in Delhi for years and travelled late night at all places....Noida, Faridabad, Gurgaon....etc...
Never faced any problems......but definitely when u r out of NCR and you hear news.....the picture looks much more scary......though it is not true.

But really can't blame people who have never really lived there and are ave only seen NCR through media eyes.

Climate wise Pune is better...but Infrastructure...connectivity, Food ...everything else rock in NCR.

Kebabs, Paranthe, chole bhature, chat......oooooo I miss it

Even housing is much more affordable there.

Delhi / Pune may be similar in crimes but there is difference in the way how mass crowd behaves in Delhi and Pune. Any women who has traveled in both DTC/Metro and PMT can tell you that its 10 times more respectable for them to travel in local transport in Pune.

20 Lac passenger daily use Delhi Metro for doing jobs in different cities of NCR. In those 20 Lac passenger there are around 4 Lac ladies who daily travel in Delhi Metro. In last 4 years no major problematic news seen in Delhi metro for Ladies.

During CWG all foreign athletes like the positive attitude of Delhi public a lot along with surprising infrastructure , great facilities , good food. This is our media who only highlight problem of national capital region much more than other areas, otherwise every body is more safe here.

Ohhhhh I love Delhi because of Greenery, Broad roads,Flyovers, amazing winters, World Class metro, Great Market Place and Malls, Maximum numbers of tourist Places/Historical Places and Delhi is growing year by year and very close to All Hill stations.

As a Delhiite who travels by metro 2-3 times every week, I agree that we have too many anti-social elements using DTC/metro and they are nuisance for women. Metro now has a coach reserved coach for women, so situation there has improved but DTC buses are still a nightmare for women.

Good thing, that Bangalore is losing its IT Capital status. I am Bangalorean ,but still support this move. That may reduce some of the inflated RE rates in Bangalore.
