  • Pune : Staying in a High rise : Looking to make the Balcony safe

    Hi,

We'll be moving to a high rise apartment soon but we are not allowed to cover the balcony with grills due to fire safety regulations. Are there any other alternatives which can help to make the balcony secured? I have a 3 year old kid!

    Thanks.

How much is the gap between railings?
Is there a kind of platform or something where child can climb on near the railings?
Do not keep chairs or other stuff where child can climb up for better view etc.
Keep the entry to balcony closed when you are not with the child-say while cooking or watching TV etc or when distracted for other commitments.
    Block gaps in railings.
Basic alertness to child is necessary while taking steps to prevent any accidents.
