I think at the point of getting approval the water situation may not be that serious as it stands today.

One needs to question himself before using the water for such kind of amenities ,when people and animals in many part of state are unable to get water for basic needs for survival.

We are essentially selfish and will not see beyond our needs.Suffering of animals is far away in jungles and people do not have time to think about such things.
If we questioned ourselves,India would have been in a far better state.
We are yet to think how our actions impact others.
This does not mean that golf courses should not be there, but we should be clear about our priorities.
This 2 sayings somewhat personifies our present state today:False riches, consisting of money, houses and lands, acquired by selfish means at cost to others and thereafter used selfishly, are almost always used for the oppression of other persons.
    Joseph Franklin Rutherford
I think we are living in selfish times. I'm the first one to say that I'm the most selfish. We live in the so-called 'first world,' and we may be first in a lot of things like technology, but we are behind in empathy.

We need to change, widen our horizons, thought processes and look beyond mere material things.material things are necessary but is not the end all,but a means achieve higher aims.

  • Paranjape inc. decided to put a golf-course in their private property... and... its neither a public-hazard nor a nuisance.

Folks, WHY are we lecturing ourselves over it ?

Agreed, this topic is not adding any value to the thread.

The best is to ignore such posts. 'mangomen' should open a different thread for his concerns as that applies to all properties that have golf courses including private golf clubs. It looked to me that his intention was to attack Paranjape and Blue Ridge, either because he hates them badly or he missed the opportunity to invest. :D

  • Do you think paranjpee is gonna pay for maintainance of these golf course.

oh sorry but i forgot that ppl who buy at BR are filthy rich, they dont mind paying 5K towards maintainance per month for a 1 BHK flat.

I can guarantee this golf course will be a barren land in 5 yrs ..

You are right.this discussion does not add value to knowledge about the project, but sometimes diversions from main topic take place, because we still have a socialist bent of mind.People think-
Golf course when many cannot even get even a proper glass of drinking water. To that extent it has some egalitarian value.
My last take on this subject.

  • What about 100s of swimming pools in different societies ?

Shouldnt maoists attack that as well till everyone gets enough water to drink ?

  • Bottomline - in the context of water usage: Any activity that is only for the pleasure of it - should be discouraged -if such an activity is hindering someone's necessity.

  • Mangomen,

    Millions don't have electricity.

Use of electricity to run your computer, resulting in posts such as above are strongly discouraged.

Asking you to refrain from using electricity for such blatant frivolousness.

Sense of personal virtue is all very nice but will not change anything here.

When you stop, no need to wave that white flag......we all will just understand that you have changed.

    ...........

Come on sir...we live and breath capitalism.

Lets, wave that white-flag...and ask to be pardoned. :-)

    water - electricity - any resource--> wastage should be avoided;

@Superduper -- you are mature enough to draw the line b/w the two - ever imagined someone's world without water --- be reasonable -- before drawing a comparison...

so rather than produce more water you want people to focus energy and time on checking usage???

why not let the private sector do the job which the govt surely cant do. typical socialist way of working. restrict freedom and bring down quality of life for everyone.

    to blue ridge buyers.

is builder going to form society?
is society going to manage township or builder himself (or some company appointed by him)?
is builder going to give land to society? or just giving land on lease?
