Typically I have seen that first the area get populated and then the schools come up. On Expway, it's the other way round. You find schools in totally unoccupied sectors like 135

Here is the list

Amity
Mayoor (Mayo College Franchisee)
Lotus Valley
A new DPS in sec 132
Genesis Global
JBm Global
Sriram school
Shiv Nadar School
Step by step
Indraprastha Global
Jaypee's school
Pathways (added by Trickcyclist)
Fortune world school' in sector 105 (added by nishant2hit)
Of Course 2 of Mayawati's dream schools

  • Pathways ( International school with IB curriculum) in sec 100.
It is a good local option for R2I NRI's and expats.

  • The biggest problem is all the schools are premium... and does not suit the requirement of people with medium income.. All of them are with monthly fee more than 5k permonth.. I guess DPS when open will be around 3 or 3.5 k pm. Amity is also around 4 k i guess..

We need missionary school or DAV on Eway who are reasonable with fee and balanced with their teaching methodologies..

    Pawan you are spot on.
These days the education system is very commercial and used as a business to make money for the trustees.
I was offered a small stake in such kind of business, the model is very simple
    1. Buy land alloted for school ( 1000 sq m or more) , the rate was between 30 to 40k in Noida and around 10k in GN ( 3 years ago).
    2. Get a franchaise from the likes of DPS ( need to negotiate but could be had for around 35-50 lacks), you also need to pay a modest royalty every year to them but get a readymade brand and technical expertise)
    3. Cost of constructing the building 1000-1500 per sq ft, this can be done in phases with admissions starting for lower classes and gradually increasing the higher standard classes.
    4. Depending on your investment you get trustee positions, e.g. if you put 2 crore out of 10 crore then you get 2 truatee positions out of 10.
    5. Such a venture will start making money properly after 5 years.

Looking at the mushrooming of schools in NCR it looks like this model has found favour with investors, I know of someone who has participated in such a scheme by the virtue of having 2 acres of land ( his equity was land and other investors put in the money).
The flip side is that such education costs money for the parents ( monthly fee of around 5k for an ordinary school) wityh no gurantees of quality.
Good convent schools ( I went to such a School) were driven by missionary zeal and were given land a prime locations in Delhi virtually free. That is the reason that they still charge a nominal fee.

Alas the days of Convent schools are gone ( what a shame) because a UP or Haryana Govt. will never give them land for free

  • what else can you expect with Ministers like Kapil Sibbal who is a hardcore corrupt man!!

pathetic state of affairs// very true..local businessman venturing into school business (e,g Fortune World school in sector 105), i dont think these guys have any experience of running a good quality school...buy an institutional land, form a trust, charge crazy fees with no botheration on the educational quality, obtain tax exemptions and siphon off money..

    really concerning!!

  • Amity fee (avg) is around 5.5 k for class-1 (inclusive of bus fee, annual charges etc.)....
I think all these schools are at least > 5k per month.

Humm.. Interesting, I think schools in N-Eway are cheaper then New Born RNE Ghaziabad.... In G D Goenka RNE, All Inclusive Fee is more than 8,500 per month (Annual Charges + Tuition Fee + 1000 for Transport)... Same fee I think for DPS Ghaziabad

G.D. Goenka Public School, Raj Nagar Extension, Ghaziabad :: Fee Structure

Transport is 1.5K a month (they hv AC coaches) and annual fee is 12K. That takes the monthly gross to 6K

So far I know, this is in line with private schools in any other area.

Add to it 'Fortune world school' in sector 105.
Yes, most of these schools are at sparsely populated locations (FYI...sector 135 is occupied by 35 to 40 duplex owners/jaypee officials). Sooner or later, all these sectors would be occupied.

  • PPSharma Ji, I remember for Mayoor it was 3500 pm in 2009. Are they still charging the same for you because for new admission it is 4500 per month. If you include Annual changes and transport or so than cost comes to Rs 7000 per month.

    For new DPS franchise in sec 132 fees is 87,000 pa. not sure if it incude transport also. {Buidling in under construction .. don't know completion status.}

    Shiv Nadar school fees is Rs 13,000 per month. {Buidling in under construction, No where near completion..}

  • Hi all,
I am very touchy when it comes to education.. commercialisation of this extent hurts to the core to me.. I do not believe that these costly schools make our kids a super kid. It is hard to believe for a person like me who got his basic education in a hardcore village. I competed really well with all these so called super kids in my Masters of Business administration and now in my professional life.
Even if i could afford to send my kid with fee more than 6k, i wont as i do not see any value addition. After 10th or 12th they have to compete wil the lot who will come from rural/urban govt school to get admission in IITs and AIMS. Other than that how prepared they will be to cope with the rest in society with enormous diversity..
If i send my kid to a school fully AC, will she be ever able to greet/relate to my parents and relative staying in the same vilage from where i blong to.
Giving comfort more than required at the cost of your earning is making your child more dependent on you.
It all depends on your upbringing your socio-economic environment. I do not advocate this for all as My story and belief is different. It may not suit other individual with diffrent upbringing and socia-economic class..
