There was a time in 80s and 90s last century when India used to send very large contingents of 200-300 athletes who used to return empty-handed and even an occasional Bronze medal victory was considered a big thing. But this current crop, leaner and meaner, looks to change that record.

Though still not into the halfway mark of ongoing London Olympics, India has already won 3 medals-2 in shooting, Gagan Narang with his bronze and Vijay Kumar with his silver, and Saina Nehwal with bronze in Badminton, which has already helped India equal its best performance in Beijing Olympics last time.

There are still medals expected from Vijendar and Dibendroo in boxing while Sushil Kumar should win in wrestling. For change, take a break from RE worries and give a standing ovation to our boys and girls who have done us proud in London Olympics.
