    There is no difference.
BJP is letting themselves down loosing such an opportunity to change India for the better.

  • While BJP is not a perfect party, there is still HUGE difference between BJP and other parties. See the situation in Kashmir where we lost 3 brave soldiers since they couldn't get timely medical treatment since they were obstructed by local jehadis.

Army Chief has rightly warned these local jehadis. BJP is supporting the Army while other political parties are denouncing the statement as if lives of our soldiers is cheap.

  • The BJP reminds political observers of the Congress of the ‘80s. Totally focused just on one point: electoral success.

And just as the Congress couldn’t care less about the means as long as it achieves its end, the BJP today shows the same traits. It’s safe to say, that one big signal from Maharashtra is that BJP could be the New Congress.

Pappu Kalani Criminal #1 in Ulhasnagar
BJP showed little inhibition joining hands with local muscleman Pappu Kalani. Interestingly, it was this notorious gangster who was at the centre of BJP’s campaign against criminalisation of politics in early ‘90s. The BJP’s late Gopinath Munde had then accused Maharashtra’s former chief minister Sharad Pawar of shielding Kalani. In the current election, the gangster-turned-politician was BJPs accomplice. Result: BJP along with Kalani clan will rule the city.

    In Pune
Once a fiefdom of Congress’s Suresh Kalmadi, it later became a strong bastion of the NCP, especially of Ajit Pawar. For over a year, the BJP selectively wooed many lieutenants of Pawar Jr including one of the most maligned, an all-party-experienced toll-contractor. Throwing all talk about probity and transparency to the poll wind, the said contractor was handed over the responsibility to “manage” Maharashtra’s cultural capital. BJP recorded a historic win in Pune, thanks to a large number of leaders borrowed from all parties.

    In Nashik
Raj Thackeray-led MNS was ruling for last five years. The younger Thackeray had no chance of continuing this run, largely due to his party’s inept and lacklustre handling of governance. Here, too, ahead of elections, the BJP gobbled up almost the entire city unit of the MNS — and pocketed Nashik.

That's bad. Hope that BJP doesn't go down the path of Congress. The reason for my hope is that BJP support base consists of educated middle class that care about criminalization. So, it'll keep a tight lease on BJP.

Did BJP support this guy or protect him?
ISI might have infiltrated some local unit of BJP, just like there are some spies caught in Paramilitary forces or police.

The ideology of BJP is its differentiating factor; now you may like or dislike BJP for its ideology but nevertheless, it makes it different from the remaining secular lot.

All Parties are interested on electoral success and BJP is no different. BJP was nothing. While Congress manipulated people on slogans of poverty, BJP built itself on issue of Ram Temple & Rath Yatra movement started by Advani by polarizing society and division of vote banks on religious lines.

In 1984 election the sympathy wave after assassination of Madame Gandhi ensured that even Vajpayee lost his seat.
  • The ideology of BJP is its differentiating factor.

Its not just BJP that calls itself different. Even others (other political parties, media, so-called intellectuals and commentator, 'eminent' historians, the entire establishment) calls BJP different - they use the word 'Communal'.

Now you may like or dislike BJP for its ideology but nevertheless, it makes it different from the remaining secular lot.

  • What do you mean by secular lot? BJP itself claims to be a secular party.

I think you want to paint BJP to your own colors.

By the way, i don't believe in ideology business of Political parties. They are like chameleon and change color according to need of time to get votes. BJP in UP is biggest Parivarvad party in UP along with SP-Yadavs.

Obviously, every party will claim itself to be secular. Do you expect any party to call itself as communal or pseudo-secular?

The reality doesn't change whether you believe in it or not. Perhaps, you meant that political parties are not sincere in their professed ideologies.
But nevertheless, they have different ideologies. BJP and CPM are two extremes with almost all parties more towards 'secular' space.

Now, depending upon ideological preference, one may choose the words 'communal' or 'nationalist' for BJP or 'secular or pseudo-secular' for other parties.

But the difference remains between BJP and other parties.

  • I chose words Communal & Pseudo Nationalist for BJP. Pseudo secular for Congress. But both have lot in common - corruption, nepotism, criminality, Gundagardi and ability to make Janta Ullu.

  • As BJP becomes more and more like Congress- importing both leaders, tactics and behaviour- it no longer can claim to be the 'party with a difference'

  • Seems people are being paid more and more for digging ditches...

So much for the BJP criticism of NAREGA, they seem to have changed their view of it and more and more money is now being allocated to this dumb program...

  • Hopefully now the party will like to select a UP and UK CM who can deliver unlike an outsider like Khattar in Haryana. Please no more RSS and Gay Raksha nominees... No Yogis and Mauryas... please.. for the sake of UP and for the sake of India.

lots to do in UP and UK and in a way, will also decide what India achieves going ahead.
