I would submit that the home automation technology, as discussed in few earlier threads are used in US & Europe since decades and are trustworthy.
It is very important to mention here that the solution cost varies and goes up with addtion of premium user interfaces. But the basic back bone for home automation under no conditon would go beyond Rs. 1.5 Lacs.
Builders and developers are now utilizing the opportunity to built their houses with the backbone on home automation. The customer, after the possession, may buy more sophisticated and costly user interfaces to add to already provided base of lighting control, security, audio/video, universal remote control and other controls.
The home automation solutions are always tailormade as the requirements vary from home to home and client to client, so offering any packages would be of no use to the home owner. But yes, the home owner should always look for the robust backbone of home automation in his house, so that he could make his home future technology proof.
