Service Tax on Basic and PLC

What are the guidelines for service tax charge by builders? As per the Buyer agreement this does not reflect on the cost sheet given by builders. But now they are asking 2.575% on basic and 10.3 % on PLC .If it is as per the industry norm or they are asking something extra.

In all the new buyer's agreement, Service tax is clearly indicated. Yours might be around 6 months old wherein the service tax was either not there or just started.

Yes, as a concept service tax should be applied when someone renders services e.g. construction activity. If the construction is happening on the plots that the builder/ contractor doing the construction should (as per law) charge a service tax.....But there should be no service tax just on the allotment of plots.....beucause in this case it becomes a case of simple purcashe and sale and rendering of services

EDC+IDC for G99 is 3627 per sq yd and for amtoria plots its 4400 per sq yd .

In appartments i guess it varies from 250-380 something per sq ft !!!

My Mood: Confused

I got a letter from DLF saying that service tax is now based on 100% weightage.

They have sent a letter saying that DLF has paid the remaining 75% on my behalf and is now being recovered from me.

Is this the new norm now? 100% weightage on PLC for service tax?

Is it only DLF or other builders also?
